Exactly 1,409 days since his last appearance, we are happy to have Dashaun back. Fresh off a great event in San Antonio, we caught up to talk about the impact that he had on my team, some of the big future events he has coming up, and just chatting with one of the best in the game. It’s always fun to catch up with buddies to see how they’ve been. Enjoy the show.
Heck yeah. All right, ladies and gentlemen, welcome back. Favorite time of the week once again, keeping it real time. This is episode number 266. And I'm pumped for today's guest because this is a return appearance, but we're just chatting about this. I don't do return appearances like a month later, two weeks later, whatever. It has been 1,409 days since the last appearance of our legendary guest today. And there's a lot of stuff that's happened in the last 1409 days. I got a lot of stuff that's happened in the last seven days to talk about with this man. So no hesitation, ladies and gentlemen. You know the drill. Welcome to the show. Our best buddy in the world, Deshaun Bryant. Deshaun, welcome to the show, man. How's it going?
SPEAKER_00Baby, so nice to be back. So nice to see you again, you know, within a what it is, a 10-day window, maybe.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we go four years in between, and then it's like we'll see each other. It was a week ago today. So life is good, man. I appreciate that. And uh I'm thankful to have you back on the show because, like I said, there's been a lot that's transpired since then. I actually did see an RCAT last year, too, and we kind of planned on this. So everything just lined up perfectly, and I'm thankful for you to take the time to be here with us.
SPEAKER_00Likewise, man. I'm excited to be here as well. You know, beautiful evening in Florida and Texas. Just yeah, man, I'm excited to have a great conversation with you.
SPEAKER_01It's gonna be good. So I say we just do what we always do, man. We put our head down and just run full force towards the wall. Smash that bad boy down. So we just uh we just hung out last week. You came down here to San Antonio, did an awesome event, and this is the first thing I want to talk about for sure because it was huge. So let's chat a little bit about it, man. Let's uh tell the people that weren't there in the room. Number one, y'all lost out on a huge educational day. But if they weren't there, why don't you tell us a little bit about what we did last Tuesday here in San Antonio?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so um last Tuesday, San Antonio, uh the the local RCAT chapter, they do these lunch and learns where they bring speakers in and they have them come teach on something, whether it's roofing, sales, mindset, adjust us, whatever it may be. And uh David Tagger reached out to me. They tried to do it last year, didn't work out, and then he reached out to me again this year. He's like, hey, listen, man, I'm gonna make it happen. I got the sponsors, I got everything. And I'm like, please, I would be, you know, ecstatic to come through. And um so they booked it, they gave me uh uh an amicable amount of time to do my thing. They didn't want just an hour, they wanted like almost like four hours. I'm like, oh yeah, let's go, like that's game time. So came through, we talked to four types of homeowners, four types of salespeople, and then we taught some mental toughness strategies. I'm a certified mental performance coach. So we like to teach guys the mindset of the game, then we like to teach them the strategies, tactics, and principles so they can continue to dominate the game and be the best version of themselves. And we got a lot of great feedback from the event, but one of the coolest things was a lot of people know me from going door-to-door, right? That's what we do, door-to-door. And I'm not really quote unquote a door-to-door guy. Let me phrase that, I am a door-to-door guy, but I'm not a guy that's all about door to door. I'm just all about um controlling your own destiny. I'm about learning how to generate your own business. I'm gonna learn, I'm all about not putting your livelihood in another man's hands. And unfortunately, in our industry, if you want to control your destiny, you gotta be able to go door-to-door, go business to business, go network, just go get in front of other humans. So we talked to four types of homeowners, four types of salespeople, and we had a few companies that was like, Well, this is gonna be door-to-door stuff because we don't really do door-to-door. And um, one of those guys came up to me after the event and was like, hey man, we was that company asking, was it door to door? And they said this was beyond anything we could imagine it would have been. It it impacted us tremendously, teaching us how to communicate with our sales team, teaching the sales team how to communicate with sales reps, whether you do retail or insurance, or just talking to your spouse, right? So got great feedback, and the best part about the whole event outside of Brandy and um Ashley and um my boy the roof poppy, my boy David Taggart putting it together. I was able to bring my kids, so we was able to make it a family trip/slash business trip, and they had a great time. And I brought them to an event with me a year ago, and they told me this event was better than the first event they went to, so that was that was pretty amazing.
SPEAKER_01I guarantee it was because you had the San Antonio crowd, and nothing beats us. But that I wanted to mention that right out of the gate, too. That was probably the coolest part about the entire thing was when you were walking in, you had your kids with you, and I got to just chat with them for just a split second and be like, you know what? I want you guys to know y'all are about to see this room packed, and just know every single person in here paid money to see your dad speak. So I'm glad that your kids had a good time. I think that's probably the most awesome part of the entire thing was just knowing, like, you know, they're sitting back there, and the hero is up on stage, and people are giving this dude a round of applause and cheering and coming to see it. So that was that was the surprise part of it that I didn't really expect. And uh, I think that was probably my favorite part, but I will say this you impacted everybody in the room, and the cool thing about it is I always had this rule when we go to events for Rio Blanco roofing. My rule has always been we sit in the front row at events, and I had three relatively new guys with me that that day. One of them was his first day in the industry, yep. And I came to you a little bit, yeah, Brandon. Exactly. I came to you a couple minutes before we started and was like, hey man, you know, this first day in the industry kind of want to see what he's what he's got, you know. And you involved him immediately, and I could instantly see this kid kind of transform into what I believe he's going to become. And when you see someone that you think has that kind of potential, and they just instantly break out of a shell in front of a group of a hundred people that they don't know, I was beyond proud of that. So, shout out to you because that was a great lesson. And uh, my guys have been working with what you taught them for the last week, so it's been it's been amazing. They've uh they've developed a lot, and I give all the credit to you for that because it's why I brought them.
SPEAKER_00Thank you, man. I I think it's important to sit in the front row. I think a lot of people undervalue that part of training. Like when you go to events, um, I teach the people that I train always sit in the front row or sit in the four corners. Yeah, the reason why you sit in the four corners of the front row because you know it's the the speaker, the trainer, whoever it is up front, they're not gonna pick on nobody in the middle of the crowd. They're only gonna talk to the people that's in the front or the people that's engaging, and you get the biggest return by participating, not just by sitting quiet and being dormant, because it's just passive learning. And when you're learning passively, it's easy for information to come and go. So I think it's so dope that you made them sit in the front. I'm a front row sitter, I love being in the front, or at least the first three rows, and being able to be around the heat, being around the speaker, ask questions. So I thought that stuff was powerful. And um, I love after the event, your guy Brandon came up to me and was like, hey man, I just want to let you know um I'm gonna be somebody in this industry. And I'm like, Yeah, man, let's go. Like, I'm excited for you, man. I and I pray that you achieve everything you desire and more. You know, so it's dope to be able to one of my favorite things is being one of the first people that new reps get to experience getting into this industry because a few things I like to let guys know I ain't nobody special. I'm the guy that's putting, I just put in a lot of work and I'm just getting a big return on my investment, right? I'm just getting a big return on all of the work that I put in. And the second thing is I like to let people know that I ain't special, man. Like if I did it, you could do it. Now I'd be different if I was a born a genius and I'm like Einstein or something. Just like, okay, that dude is just different. But it's like, no, man, everybody can read the books, everybody can go to conferences, everybody can go to events. You just gotta have that obsession, that passion, that dedication to your craft. And once you have developed that in our industry, you'll surpass a lot of people out here.
SPEAKER_01No kidding. And I I've been in basically trying to impart that upon these guys. It's like if you look around, the people that were in that room were kind of rare because there's a whole bunch of other people in San Antonio that are in the industry that were not there. And I said, those guys are whether they realize it or not, they're standing still right now, and you guys are catching them. And you're right here at the very beginning. Some of these guys are way far ahead, but if you just keep this mindset, you keep you know building your foundation, getting your knowledge together and getting it right before too long, you're going to be very noticeable because most people are just kind of hanging out and and you know, relying on skill and whatnot, so or relying on luck basically. So I'm super proud of my guys. They took those lessons, Deshaun, and they came back to me and said each one of them had a client that they've already kind of worked with or talked with, or you know, even someone that they just know. Brandon didn't even have any clients yet, so he was just kind of going off of other people that he knew. But it was amazing to me because one of my other guys, Francisco, he's pretty much on the opposite end of the spectrum. He's been in the industry for 30 years, and I'm just now kind of getting him into the sales side of it. He's been in, you know, labor, he does all of the repair work and stuff that we do. And we had two deals that we got, we actually signed on that day. So you were awesome. I need y'all to move to San Antonio. We're undefeated when Deshaun and his family's in San Antonio, but we signed the two deals, and it was crazy because complete opposites, the the personalities of the homeowners were totally different from each other, and we were able to kind of sit there in the driveway and discuss, you know. Tell me about what you learned the other day and tell me how you applied this to what you did. And I'm not gonna name any names, but Francisco went out and he sold a chimney repair for $8,000, which is you know, that's almost as good as a roof replacement, really. And he beat out a couple really well-known companies here in San Antonio because of understanding how to approach the people, understanding the right things to say, and and how to just be himself in that deal. And uh, he got a he got a pretty nice paycheck for that one. So that was pretty awesome. And and we completely relate that to what we learned at the event. And my guys are gonna have a solid foundation for their sales, and now we're gonna, you know, continue to build and add on to it. But how amazing it was! And I love what you just said there about Brandon coming up after the thing and saying, you know, I'm gonna be somebody. This dude's got some serious enthusiasm, and I love it. We had breakfast today, and he was all over that. You know, I'm gonna, I'm, I'm not gonna stop till I'm the best. And it's like, all right, bud, I like that. So help, you know, you helped me help them get that mindset going that early in their career. And I'm not gonna lie, the day before I played our podcast that we did four years ago, just to kind of give them a feel, I said, y'all don't even know who these people are in the industry, but as you continue to evolve and develop, you're gonna realize this is a special day, yeah, and uh it was a special day. I hope everybody in that room took as much away as we did, but I can guarantee you we got our money's worth times 10 at least.
SPEAKER_00It was electric, man. Shout out to San Antonio, the participation, the way people showed up, the love. You know, I had a lot of guys come up to me, like, man, I heard you was coming, I wasn't gonna miss it. We're excited about your event in November, we're going to that as well. And when you put out YouTube videos and you put out content, right, like you never really know who is impacting. You're just putting things out, you're just putting it into the marketplace, right? And we teach this thing called the Gs of getting money. And one of the G's of getting money is you have to give, right? You have to give. And you gotta give value to the marketplace, you gotta give information, education, you know, motivation, inspiration. Like you gotta give something because the way God created this universe, uh, this world, is you reap what you sow. So we put out a lot of good content for the last nine years, and you never know who's reaching, you never know who's watching it. Because a lot of people don't comment, they just you know, uh digest information. And to have guys walk up to me at the event, like, man, I've been watching your content for five, six years. I'm always posting your videos in the group chat. Um, you know, I got guys that's walking up to me and they're introducing me to the other sales reps, and they're like, bruh, he always sending your stuff in the group chat, man. He's a big supporter of you, he loves what you're doing. One of the dudes, like, I ain't never watched your videos. He's like, but after the day, I need to go take some time to indulge in them because you really know what you're doing. I love the way you represent yourself and all those things. So just shout out to everybody that watch the videos, that share the videos, that comment on the videos. And like I said, we nine years in. And I always tell people, Chuck, I'm not a YouTuber, I just put content on YouTube. Like, I don't really care about the views, I don't try to monetize it. I'm not trying to get no 40,000, 50,000 subscribers. Like, I really don't care. But I made a commitment nine years ago that we're gonna try to drop at least an episode, two episodes a month, you know, never going no longer than two months span without putting out content. And we've done it, and that's what's created this momentum and got us to where we at just staying consistent for the last nine years.
SPEAKER_01It's crazy how that works. And then and I try to teach that to my guys as well. It's like if you look at my social media, I remember the very day when I was like, okay, I'm gonna do a live video, and I'd been seeing people for a long time saying, you know, and it was about nine years or so ago, just like when you got started. And it was crazy because I'm doing this live video and I'm at this job site in Anderson, Texas. I'll never forget it. It was a million-dollar custom home that was being built, and this dude came and found me because I made his mom smile right before she passed away, like two years earlier, right? So this had a lot of meaning to me, and it was special. And I'm just out there with my little thing and I'm going, you know, hey guys, I'm I'm out here at this job, and I was all corny and whatnot. And I never forget this because we have a mutual tie in our careers at one point, and the dude who starts looking at it was Lee Hate. And I'm like, Oh my god, like Lee Hate's watching my video like right now at this thing, and I think in that moment it hit me, and it was like, dude, this is like not just you know, my friends from high school or whatever. Like, I built a pretty decent little network on there, and you start putting that content out regularly. And the lesson in that was funny because that same house that we just got done with the chimney on, the client needed a couple different touches from different people to kind of you know ease their their worries about it. It is a big project, and it they needed someone awesome, they found someone awesome, but they had to have each of us kind of touch them a little bit, make a phone call, and reassure. And it was awesome because when I went over there to get the job started, or we went over there because they needed us to quote something else after they decided to go with us, they had added another whole project on. When I walked in the front door, I never met these folks before in my life. And the first thing the wife says is, Oh, yeah, you're the same guy. You look and sound exactly like that dude I saw on Instagram, and I'm like, Hey, you know what? I don't even know that I put stuff on Instagram, and it's like, hey, thank you. And she watched one of the videos that we did from an exact same project a few years earlier, and she said, I saw the craftsmanship and you explained it well. And I just tell my guys, dude, when I put that out there, I had no idea that some lady was gonna look at it a couple years later and she was gonna go with us. But I know that if I don't put it out there, that ain't gonna happen.
SPEAKER_00So I ain't watching it as we should.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you might as well just go out there, and and I think both of us, um, you know, you had that moment where you start it and you're like, dude, I you know, do I look goofy on camera? Do I sound funny? I don't like my own voice, you know. What's up with that? But then once you get comfortable with it a little bit, you realize who cares, you know? We're talking right now to millions of people, and we're just having a conversation, you know. I'm speaking that millions into existence too. There's millions of people watching this bad boy, millions of people, and uh yeah, it's it's just all about consistency, and I've always admired that about you because I remember it was before I even came to San Antonio when I first started kind of noticing your content, and I followed you since day one, you know, and I know your history in the industry, I know how hard you've worked and and you know, built something that is absolutely amazing. And I want to kind of talk a little bit about that transformation, you know. You started out going out there, hitting the doors, doing your thing, come to realize that there's a serious shortage in quality training in our industry, and you decided, you know what, I'm gonna fill that gap. I'm gonna be the guy that takes this spot and I'm gonna run with it. So let's talk a little bit about that history. I know that uh, you know, we got some other stuff coming up in the future, but I do want to kind of talk about your evolution through that and then into being a featured speaker and having events that people are selling out all over the country. So tell our tell their fans, the millions and millions watching, a little bit about your background in the industry, what got you to this point?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so I've been in roofing door-to-door roofing sales for 11 years now. Um, first two years, pure charisma. And then most people know the story, but for the people that don't, I met a homeowner and I knocked on his door and I sold him. And he was just very impressed with who I was and the way I showed up in my communication. He was just like, Man, who your coaches, who your mentors? I'm like, nobody, man. It's just God giving talent. So he's like, hey, go home look up Grant Cardone. So I go home and look up Grant Cardone, and this grant nine years ago. This one Grant was heavy in sales. Oh, yeah. The good times. Yeah, not real estate grant, but this, you know, in the trenches grant. So um, looking him up, watching these videos, they blew my mind. I was very intrigued, very uh inspired, right? So he said something. He said, every industry got a gap in it. If you can close the gap, you'll make a lot of money. And um, it just clicked in my head. I'm like, man, this industry isn't good at training. Because I had decent trainers when I got started. I don't want to say I had the best, but I didn't have the worst, but it was pretty decent. And it was good enough to get me started and get me going. But then I took a step back once I had that big epiphany. I'm like, man, I couldn't be the only guy that got took out for two days and they told me got it. So then I believe visions come vertical, right? Visions come vertical. So I believe God give everybody a vision, God give everybody something. Hey, I need you to go do this, I need you to go do this. And um, if you don't do it, I do believe he'll give that same vision to somebody else. That's why we've all had an idea that we didn't act on, and you see it pop up years later, and you're like, man, I thought of that, right? Oh, I should have done that. So roof hustlers was very vivid. Like, I'm sitting in my garage and I just heard a voice as clear as day it says, start a YouTube channel, name it roof hustlers, you'll take over the roofing industry. Like, those were the exact words. It wasn't like let's try this. It was like start a YouTube channel, name it roof hustlers, you'll take over the roofing industry. So we was obedient. So we just started putting out content since 2017, thought of the idea on a Tuesday, um, put out our first YouTube video on Thursday, and I always tell cats all the time, you can't perfect anything until you put it out. The reason why a lot of people stuck Chuck, that's just funny, right? But anyways, a lot of the reason why a lot the reason why a lot of people stuck Chuck is uh they so obsessed with perfection. It ain't perfect, it ain't right. I don't like it, it don't look good, so they'll just hold it, hold it, hold it. We just recorded our first video, and my first, my thing was, hey, we're just gonna drop a video, we're gonna record a video every Wednesday, and we're just gonna put it out as soon as it's done. As soon as we get it back, we're dropping it, we're dropping it. So we started dropping content in 2017. First roofing company hit me up in 2018 off Instagram. Um, and I just went and spoke to the company. I didn't have nothing prepared, but I'm like, wow, it's first opportunity, right? It's actually working. And then 2020 hit, and that's when I trained my first roofing company, American Roofing, based out of Nashville. And I went and did that first training. I hadn't I had nothing prepared, uh, Chuck. Like I had a little bit, but I went out there, we just winged it, we just knocked doors all day. And it's a dude named Luke. Shout out to Luke, because he the guy that got his company to reach out to me, and he said something. He said, Um, hey man, I just want to let you know this is just a beginning for you, man. You finna do some big things out here. And one thing I've learned to do in my life is just receive things. I don't say, nah, man, it ain't like, nah, man. I just say, thank you for noticing. I received that, I appreciate that. Thank you for noticing, I received that, I appreciate that. Like I never say, nah, not me, man. No, I'm just I'm just trying to do my thing. Not me. Anytime somebody says you're gonna do something amazing, I just say thank you. I appreciate it, I received that. And he said that to me, and after that first training, it's been on and popping ever since. And ironic, right? Just crazy story, because you said it. Um my first training that I did in in Tennessee, I come back home because I recorded the content, I don't do it no more, but I was recording on the doors the whole night, I don't do it no more because it's too much work. So um I recorded it, brought it home. My video guys chopped it up. We dropped it on Instagram, like the little post as well. And Lee Hate commented on my post, right? I didn't know who he was. Because I didn't know the roofing industry existed until my fifth year being in the roofing industry.
SPEAKER_01Right. What a great way to enter it, not being all consumed with everything and actually learning quality stuff before you get.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, before I even started getting into the like the quote unquote politics of knowing all of the people's names and stuff. I was four years deep into personal development on my own, learning from some of the best in the industry. So Lee Hate comment on my first Facebook post. Um, the guy from American Roofing calls me. He's like, Man, did you see Lee Hate commenting on your Facebook post? I'm like, Who is Lee Hate, bro? He's like, just look him up. So I go look him up and I see his network. And then I reach out to him, hey man, thank you, appreciate it. He DM'd me. He said, Hey man, you should come to Naples and do a podcast. I'm like, I would love to do a podcast. It's like my first podcast opportunity. I'm like, oh, for sure. We drive to Naples, we do the podcast with Lee Hate, and um, he made me do live role playing on that podcast. And I'm always locked and loaded, ready to do role playing. And um, I killed it. And after that podcast, that's why anybody who always asks me how you feel about Lee, what's your thoughts about Lee? I will always say I love Lee to death. He opened doors for me, he introduced me to people that I wouldn't have been able to meet on my own. He gave me some awesome opportunities. I got nothing but love and respect for Lee, his family, who he is as a man, how he operates. Um, everybody might not like him, don't got nothing to do with me. My experience with him was good. And um that podcast I did with him was the podcast that pretty much catapulted my career and got it off the ground. And it didn't make me somebody, because I was already somebody, God made us all somebody, right? But what it did was it made people start paying attention to me. And after that podcast has been on and popping ever since. So it's just ironic. We both kind of got that that Lee Hate situation, and um, yeah, but the transformation was all about becoming. Um, be do have, right? God said be fruitful, have dominion, and multiply. But he said, be fruitful, have dominion, which is the do, and then you know, multiply. And in the beginning of my career, I didn't focus on doing and having, I focused on becoming, and all I focused on was who I needed to become to be a guy that people would want to come and coach and train their sales teams. So that was my whole focus. Had nothing to do with money, had nothing to do with popularity, had nothing to do with validation, recognition. Still to this day, I don't care about validation and recognition. Like, I'm pretty sure you don't notice it, Chuck. All of these Facebook forums and chats and groups, you never see me comment on anybody post what they'd be like, I need training. And I'm like, hit me up, DM me for some training. I don't never do that just because I know God always gonna make this thing shake and bake the way it's supposed to. But yeah, man, that's how we got to where we at. Just the transformation of falling in love with training. And I was training at my original company, like they had me train eight months into the game, but I give them a lot of credit as well because they gave me a playground where I could experiment and not get fired, you know. Right? But I had that ability to really learn the game, yeah.
SPEAKER_01And it what a valuable experience that is. And I will say this my experience with Lee was very similar, except it happened way later in my career. It was only three years ago. Yeah, I was having a little bit of a situation. He called me up, same thing. Come down here, let's do a podcast. I ended up staying there for three months at Naples, and I got to be a co-mc of the blue-collar American Dream Conference because of it. So I'm with you. I don't I don't have any problems with the guy. My personal experiences with people is what I base my opinions of them on, and did good by me. So, shout out to Lee. Um, yeah, he's he's did good. So, I want to talk a little bit because as you start to evolve as a coach, you start to get that recognition, like you say, you've always been somebody, but now people are starting to pay attention. And this is something I don't even know if you'll remember this or not. Yeah, you you you remember a lot, Deshaun. You've got a good memory. I mean, you just remember Brandon's name a week later. So back in 2022, before we did our first podcast, you and I actually got to do a co-training event together with Mike Koday. And I don't know if you remember that or not, but we did it for Larry Andrews over in 777 Roofing in Oklahoma, and that was, I guess, about 1500 days ago, because of 1400 and something was our podcast. But I just remember having so much fun that day, and when it was over, it was like, Man, you know, Mike, thank you for putting me in a room with this guy. Like, I've been watching him, following him. And Mike and Mike's one of my best friends in the world, he's been he's definitely one of two people that are the only reason why I'm in this industry still. And I was just amazed because it was like, you know, I realized that you were still pretty new in your journey as a coach and a trainer, but to get recognition from a guy like that early on in your career, tell me a little bit about how that felt. Because I don't know at that moment if you even probably really understood it. Like you said, not really paying attention to the people, but tell me a little bit about what it's like when someone like that calls you and says, Dude, I need your help.
SPEAKER_00So it it it it took a few days to register because he was like, Hey, you know, and you know the crazy thing about it. I used to watch Mike Code videos like years ago because he used to walk the neighborhood. He was the first one.
SPEAKER_01That's how I got in this. That I was gonna quit the industry and one of Mike videos pulled out.
SPEAKER_00Just talking, just talking to the camera. And um, I didn't know that's who he was. Like, I like when I met him, when well, I never actually met him, which is the crazy part. But we've had phone conversations and you know, we talked over Zoom before. But um, so I got this thing. Well, if young cats give me props, it's cool. Like, I accept it, appreciate you, love you. But when the OGs, the veterans give me, you know, props, validation recognition, it hits different because they've seen so much in this industry. They've seen, you know, the Anthony Domenico's, the the Lee Hades, the Becca Swissers, the Adams, like they've seen all of these guys. And, you know, for me to come up and the way I came up, and I feel like I came up so authentically, and I came up um genuine. Like I don't know anybody else's journey, but I stayed myself this entire time. Like I've never confided to what everybody else does. I do my own thing. Like we made rap videos, you know, we rock a bow tie, you know, I wear the chains. I used to have three, but one of them pops, so I gotta go get it fixed. But I, you know what I mean? I do all of my own things and we customize, we're very authentic to who we are when we show up places. And for Mike Koday to reach out to me and say, hey man, I love your stuff. I want you to, you know, come and speak to one of my companies. I'm bringing some. To me, it was a very humbling experience because I'm like, man, this dude can reach out to anybody he wants to. Like, not like I didn't realize how how important he was until you know, I told Adam, like, Mike, Cody reach out, Cody? I'm like, yeah, he's like, like, you know, it's rare that he reaches out to people and you know, get them to come get access to his people. Like, that is a big deal, man. So that made my heart smile, and just the way he showed love. Um, still to this day, he always showed love, he always supporting. So it meant the world to me once I found out who he was. But like I said, I'm so you know, humble just because I mind my business. Like, that's my that's my quote for 2026. Mind your business. You know what I mean? I mind my business at a high level. So for him to um reach out, it made my heart smile. It was one of those um, I would say it was one of those pivotal moments in my career to let me know, like, you're making enough noise, and it's okay to turn the volume up a little bit louder.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I love that. And it was such an honor for me, too, because I'm the same way. Like, I got to be friends with Mike in kind of a a roundabout kind of way, but he's one of my best friends in the world. I love this dude, man. And I've gotten to travel with him and go to visit some of his clients, and he's given me the ability to go and do all that, and there's nothing better than being in a car with a guy like that for a six-hour road trip where you can just talk and you can learn so much. And to me, it was it was quite the honor to be included in that. And uh, I'm blessed beyond you know my own ability level, I think. But it was cool to do that with you, and hopefully, somewhere down the road, we could maybe make something like that happen again. I think that'd be so, so fun. And to to see that, you know, and to know how pivotal that moment is for you. Now we kind of shoot forward, you know, 2022 to 2026. Here we are. You've been just absolutely, you know, a rocket ship to the top, doing events all over the country, going out training people, staying true to yourself because you're right, you've never changed. And I think I to a degree, I feel like I'm the same way. Is like I just I'm happy to be here, and this is cool. And you know, I don't I don't really care if anybody watches my podcast, even though I say millions of people, I'd rather have millions of people, don't get me wrong, but I do this stuff because it's cool. I get to chat with people, I get to learn from the highest level people in the industry, and it's not something that ever gets lost on me. Like, I don't even understand how I've been able to get like you, you're on my show right now, and it's like, dude, this guy sold out a room the other day, and just to be able to have this conversation is amazing.
SPEAKER_00It's an honor. I think I think it's one of the biggest honors and privileges in in from my perspective is when people give you access to their community. Because, like I said, people never know what I'm gonna say. People like you never know who people are gonna show up and what they're gonna represent and who they are. So to me, it's always very um humbling, flattering to be like, hey man, I want you to come get in front of my people, give them some game, give them some knowledge, give them some insight, some wisdom. And I'm only 36. Well, I'm 35, I'll be 36 in two weeks. And um, I I got some homies that what come from how I come from, and um, a lot of them will sit down and tell me, they just say, Man, we can't believe what you turned roofing into. Like, we can't believe how you went just from do-to-do sales to now you got an academy, now you're hosting your own events, now you fly around the country. Because from 2022 to 2026, I landed the deal with JAF in 2022. So I did all the JAF EBS events, expert value speakers. I did every big regional event, my first year. They told me nobody does that. They're like, nobody does regional events their first year. Like everybody might get like a few local stuff with your local JF, but I did, you know, uh I did the the one in Georgia, I did the one in uh Illinois, like I did all of their big regional events, and that was going phenomenal. By that time, I'm training about 35, 40 companies a year. 2023, me and Adam finally meet, and we started off um, I guess I would say with differences, because he created the Florida Battle Pack, and um, I was against it because I'm like, bro, you you've never sold a roof in Florida. Like, how are you gonna tell people how to sell roofs in Florida? And that was just my truth. Like, it just I just felt a certain type of way because I'm from Florida, I've been selling roofs in Florida my entire life. We sat down, we talked about it, completely misunderstanding, realize we got a lot of synergy, a lot of alignment. Then he's like, hey, I got this idea, man. I'm gonna start this thing called the Pitch Pro Movement. I'm like, yeah, let's do it. I'm down. Next thing you know, now me and Adam, and I I've never watched Adam videos. That's the crazy part. They're good. I give him that. His videos are awesome, they got good production. He's phenomenal, but I didn't even start paying attention to him until we started becoming friends and started becoming like brothers. So then I joined the pitch pro movement. I'm doing the EVS stuff. Then I meet my business partner, Bruce. So, like from 2022 to 2026, we created so much momentum. Uh, one of my favorite coaches, Eric Thomas, he says this he got a theory that I love, and he says, Um, in order for miracles to happen, you gotta put yourself in miracle territory. Like, you gotta be in the marketplace doing events, doing things. And um, from 2022 to 2026, man, I've said yes to about 90% of opportunities, and not because I'm you know, fear of loss. Oh my gosh, people are gonna forget about me. I'm just like, this roofing industry is so big, it's not as small as people think it is, it's huge. We in San Antonio, I'm like, how many of y'all? This is your first time rocking out with me in person, like 90% of the room hands went up.
SPEAKER_01And that's that it's crazy how big it is.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I get excited when I see a room full of people that ain't never been with me. I'm like, oh, y'all in for a treat. Like, y'all don't know, y'all don't know what's about to happen. So it's been so much going on, man, from the best hustler academy to being a part of the pitch probe movement to landing the deal with JF. Now I'm in a partnership with Atlas, and Atlas is just phenomenal people, they're amazing. Um, shout out to Josh Van Dusky, shout out to uh just the whole uh market. Everybody in Atlas.
SPEAKER_01I love Atlas, I've been an Atlas guy for 17 years. When I was in Charlotte running a roofing supply company, we were independent distribution and we had a huge hailstorm in 2011. My other manufacturer bailed on me because ABC and SRS and everybody had uh you know larger market share. Atlas stuck with us, and I never forgot that. And I've been loyal to Atlas for 17 years because they didn't turn on me when everybody else did. So shout out to them. And Atlas has improved so much over the years. I believe it's the best product in the market. And you're right, the people I love everybody at Atlas, whether it's the people that I was calling at the you know, the desk just ordered my trucks, or you know, I've had Stan Bastik on here, and I've had my Atlas rep Brad Bellamy on here, too. And these guys are all amazing. Stan, one thing you don't know about him, Deshaun. Next time you see him, he's a huge Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He's gonna deny that and he's gonna say that he hates Ohio State, but dude, he is completely lying. The man's a buckeye through and through. Make sure that if you see him, you just follow behind him and say go bucks, go bucks, go bucks. He will love you for that.
SPEAKER_00I love Stan.
SPEAKER_01Y'all, y'all didn't hear that from me, but let's talk a little bit about that partnership. So you've you've it's very um atypical, like you said, to get the level of success that you've been able to find at such an early, you know, stage in your career. And kudos to you because you're an absolute natural. Up on that stage, I mean, you were controlling the room, you had everybody. The thing that was impressive is you remembered everybody's name in that room that you spoke to, and you came back to them and said, you know, hey Kevin, hey Bobby, whatever. And and it was like, Man, you know, he's fully engaged, so it's impossible for you not to be. And I got about 10 pages of notes from it. So I do want to talk a little bit about the curriculum. I don't want to give it away because people are paying good money to come see it, but talk a little bit about someone who comes to one of your events, like the one that we had here, yeah, and we're gonna talk about your big event in November coming up here in just a few. But uh, an event like that, what can someone expect to get from you? What can they expect as a takeaway? And who are the best people that you like to see? You just said people that have never been with you, people that are less experienced, but what's the ideal packed house look like for you?
SPEAKER_00Well, and I don't even want to see necessarily people less experienced, just people who haven't experienced me yet. Because I just did a training in Ohio a few weeks ago. Reps nine years' experience, seven years of experience. We had a guy with 11 years, and they said, I've been through a lot of trainings, it's one of the best ones I've been through. They said, Because um, one thing people don't know about me is we're deeper than roofs. None of my trainings ever have to do anything with roofs because we love the people more than we love the product. So our whole training is based around personal development, right? We want to help the man become a better man because once we help you become a better person, your sales will naturally increase. The problem with most people, they're too busy trying to get better at sales versus just becoming a better version of them. So our whole dynamic of training is to break down the man, rebuild the man into a new man, and then help him continue to grow into his greatness. Um, Eric Thomas said one of my favorite quotes, he said, um, one of the biggest um, I guess he says mishaps of one of the biggest things that's detrimental to America is um men not becoming men. Like men not becoming the man that they're supposed to be, it it affects America as a whole. Like not being a father, not being a leader, not being a husband, whatever that may be, not growing into that best version of you, it affects this world in ways that people don't even imagine. And just think about this, Chuck, like back in the days, if you was a tainted man, you did foul things, like you can get excommunicated, you can get stoned to death, like you can get shunned if you was a man that had shaky morals and values. Now, in today's society, you can have a baby and not even take care of it, and like nothing happens, like nobody cares. So um, that's why we focus so much on men becoming men. Like, you we need to help you grow and become a better man. So, at that event, the one we did in San Antonio, we talked about the four types of homeowners, four types of salespeople, right? Um, why is that important? It's because our entire life, our parents told us treat people the way you want to be treated, and we took that shit to heart, and we've been treating people the way we want to be treated our entire life, and that's why our our our relationships got so much friction in them, is because you treat people the way you want to be treated. And we teach people the platinum rule, which is treat people the way they want to be treated. And once you learn to speak other people's language, not their love language, but their communication style, how they prefer to receive information, how they prefer the buy, how they prefer to be educated. Once you understand that, just by a few little dialect that your homeowner can say, and you're like, ooh, I'm talking to this type of person, and then you can shift your entire communication style in a second. Oh my goodness, you you you are better than 90% of dodo salesmen, let alone roofing professionals out there. And I've been studying that stuff for six and a half years, like I'm obsessed with it. It's not something I Googled and I'm like, well, let me tell you what I Google. It's like, no, this is an obsession when it comes to communication because I'm from the hood. I used to say, you know what I mean, you feel me, you know what I'm saying, dog? Oh, yeah, uh, and for the last nine years, I made it my responsibility to improve my grammar, to improve my vernacular, to improve my vocabulary. And where we come from, when you talk the way I talk or the way my mom talks, they say you talk white, where I come from. That's how they, oh bro, you talk white. And it's like, no, I'm polished, I'm seasoned, like I know how to use my words in a precise, concise, direct uh concise, precise directional, a destinational way to where I don't talk in circles, but we talk, we talk with a purpose. So all of that is a part of understanding the four types of homeowners, four types of salespeople. Now, our event in November, November 11th through the 13th, to be specific, Best Hustler Experience Part 2. We sold out last year. I got a faith we will sell out again.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely.
SPEAKER_00That event is first of all, is jam-packed with phenomenal speakers. Uh, we got John C. Lack, we got Adam Bisman, we got Steven Childs. Some people don't even know who Steven Childs is, and that's one thing we're focusing on, Chuck, that's different than anybody else. We're trying to we're trying to get you in front of people you've never heard before. We're not trying to get you in front of John C. Maxwell, Ed Mont Led, Eric. I love all of those guys. Like, I love them. But if you don't been to RoofCon, you've seen them.
SPEAKER_01Yep.
SPEAKER_00We want to get you in front of somebody you haven't seen yet, Steven Child. Who is Steven Childs? He helped people undo bad habits, create new habits. Like on command. Pretty dope. We got Devin Bendison. Who's Devin Bendison? He's the go-to mindset coach for the NBA. Um, Adam introduced me to Devin, went to his event two years ago, and I I it's 25 people in a room. It's probably like six entrepreneurs, seven entrepreneurs. And we in a room for like Arizona Diamondback physical trainers and coaches. And so we're in a room with high-level athletes, guys that train athletes and business professionals. And I'm watching a grown man get other grown men and women up on stage and break them down like in ways I've never seen in my life. And he was the guy that forced me in front of a whole group of people, Chuck. He's like, What you trying to create this weekend, Deshaun? I'm like, an event. He's like, What you gonna name the event? I'm like, uh, Best Hustler Experience. Because his thing called the game changer experience. And I'm like, I love this, so I want to keep that experience thing. So Best Hustler Experience, he's like, okay, when the date? I'm like, it's November 11th. He's like, okay, what's the next thing you need to get made? I'm like, we need to get the landing page done. He's like, when you gonna get that done? I was like, uh, he's like, Monday. I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah, Monday, Monday. He's like, who you need to call to get that done? I'm like, my business partner. He's like, When are you gonna call him? I'm like, probably, he's like, on the break. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm gonna call him on the break. I'm gonna call him on the break. He's like, um, you gonna have that done by Friday, all of this stuff? You're gonna sell that the event in 30 days. What you trying to get sponsors? Yep, how many? I'm like, we're trying to get 30,000 worth of sponsors. He's like, when you gonna get that done? I was like, probably at like his like the first 10 days. I'm like, I'm good. First 10 days, let's do it. He's like, What's your level of commitment? Zero to 10. I'm like, a 10. And he looked at me in front of everybody. He said, I just want to let y'all know I ain't tell him to say 10. That was his commitment. So, Deshaun, you got one or two options. You get to be a person that keeps your commitment, or you just get to be a wannabe. And I'm in a room full of strangers, dog. Like, so we went home, we dropped the flyer, we dropped the landing page, we reached out to five sponsors, we led $25,000 worth of sponsors in four days. Um, we sold like some tickets, like a little bit, nothing crazy, but we sold out the events two and a half months before like the actual date. But it all came because of him because he pushed me in ways I didn't even know was possible. So we got Devin coming, we got John. Man, it's just a boatload of phenomenal people in the industry, out of the industry. But most importantly, you can walk away knowing you will be a better version of yourself. Has nothing to do with no flashing, no pipe jacks, no ventilation. We got everything to do with it, got everything to do with uh a demolition. But what is the demolition? We we destroying that old version of you so you can get to that new version of you, and we stepping into 2026 focused on pure execution because effort is praise, execution is worship, and as a grown up. Adult, nobody care if you try, you either did it or you didn't.
SPEAKER_01That's right, and that is so prophetic right there. I love that because you're spot on, man. And it's always good to have somebody your willingness to get up there and kind of get, you know, in front of a bunch of strangers and feel very uncomfortable and commit right there on the spot. That's huge. Most people are hiding in the back, most people are trying to go get a drink or go to the bathroom real quick. And man, I hope they don't call on me.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Standing up front, man. That's where the opportunities present themselves. That's why I teach my guys. I've always felt that way. And I love it. So let's talk a little bit about the event as far as we got millions of fans. I've already made that abundantly clear. And I'm going to continue to say that until it's millions. But we're going to fill this room. And you sold it out way in advance last time. Let's sell it out like six months in advance. I guess we don't have six months, but we got we can sell it outs in advance.
SPEAKER_00I like it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, people want to go to your event, Deshaun. How do we go about getting tickets to the event? What do we need to do to be there in the room with you and all these high-level people? And heck, you didn't even mention some of the, you know, some of the real elite people in the industry, too, that just kind of are gonna be there as well. So what do we need to do to get in the room?
SPEAKER_00We got Jim Aline coming, my boy Nick Brandon. We got Bruce, like I said, we got Adam, we got John C Night, we got Cody. Like, it's so and the people that's coming, the part that people don't understand is everything we teach in is practical. There's no theory, there's no the only motivation you might get might might come from me. I might be the only person bringing inspiration, motivation. Everybody else is bringing tangible, practical stuff you can apply, get results. But um, Best Hustler, Best Hustler Academy.com. Um, you can go to events. Uh, if you on the Keeping It Rio podcast, you're watching this podcast, y'all shoot us a DM, we'll get you 20% off. Hey, I watch the podcast, heard the podcast. Even if you watch 10 seconds of it. Well, if you watch 10 seconds, you won't get this part. You won't see this deal if you watch 10 seconds. You guys watch the whole thing.
SPEAKER_01That was an all million. We put it in 46 minutes in, so there you go.
SPEAKER_00But uh we can get you 20% off. Now, the cool thing about the event that's different than anybody else's event um that I've been to, that I've been a part of in the industry, right? Is um we're doing three days. First day is VIP, November 11th is a VIP day. We're doing indoor ski shooting because it's at the Kennesaw Gun Club. Oh, come on. So at the Kennesaw Gun Club, so we're doing indoor ski shooting, and we're gonna do teams, so it's gonna be fun, it's gonna be competitive. And then the two-day event, you gotta be there for all both days. We raffle in away a special gun. So we're doing a raffle, so somebody's gonna leave with some some heavy artillery, which is gonna be exciting. And um, we got, oh, I almost forgot about my boy. We got Mike Goldstein hosting.
SPEAKER_01Oh, you don't want to forget about Mike. Oh my goodness, he's a character. I love that guy. Mike is.
SPEAKER_00Oh my goodness. He's elite. He's elite, man. And just he's a phenomenal guy. So we got him hosting the event. It's just so and you know the sucky part about events, uh, Chuck, and I don't mean this in a bad way, but the sucky part about events, you can't invite everybody. Like you want to get all of your friends up there to speak, and you'd be like, Brock, get you down, get you down, get you down. And it's like, okay, let's save it for the next one, and then the next one. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_01Because what makes it so special. When you get that call and you get the opportunity to be in an event like that, it's like, dude, that's that's pretty big time.
SPEAKER_00And our event's so different than everybody else's events, right? Because everybody else we're putting on events in the roofing industry, right? Let's just be very tangible. Like, let's be very practical. They're huge. They're huge. Like RoofCon is huge. When the Storm, huge. Demetri Roofing Process Conference, huge. Like all of these events are huge. Our event is only 250 people. So it's intimate. So our speakers that are speaking, they get to be in front of everybody. You can go to RoofCon, bro, and you you might you can't even be in somebody's breakout because you're in another breakout. So you never even get to watch the guy speaking. You that might have been, oh man, I missed it. So at our event, you're gonna get heavy doses of every single guy that's coming up to speak, um, practical information, and then you get the ability to mingle with these people where they're not in a hurry. They're not in a hurry, they're not in a they don't gotta get to another training, they don't gotta get to another breakout. It's like once they're done speaking, they there, and you can chop it up with them going to the bathroom or at lunch or whatever it may be, or come to VIP. Well, and our VIP only for 50 people. So it ain't like it's gonna be hundreds of people in VIP, it's only 50 people in VIP. So that's that intimate set in itself gonna be dope, man. But yeah, Best Hustler Academy. Uh go to resources, not resources, go to events, get your tickets now. Um, I think we got a little under 200 left, but by the gracious of God, it's gonna sell out before November 30th.
SPEAKER_01This episode's gonna be played on July 30th. So we got to sell 200 tickets, folks. We got plenty of time to sell the 200. Let's sell the 200 off, keep it real. Come on.
SPEAKER_00No doubt in my mind, Chuck. Like, I'm so faith-driven. Uh, we do the sewing, he do the growing. Last year, my business partner Bruce was like, Man, we ain't selling no tickets, we ain't selling no tickets. I said, We're gonna sell it out, bro. Just trust me. And the goal was 140. We ended up selling 175.
SPEAKER_01See, and I'll tell you what, when you were down here, y'all could have sold out the Alamo Dome. I think that thing said 60,000. So we could have had that. That's something to plan on next time. And uh, I love it. We're gonna start winding it down a little bit. I always try to keep the episodes about an hour, but I feel like we're probably gonna go a little tiny bit over. I'm good, I'm good.
SPEAKER_00I'm gay.
SPEAKER_01So, since we last spoke, we've just covered the fact that you've, you know, basically traveled the world, you've helped a lot of people, you've reached a ton of new faces, a ton of new individuals who had no idea who you were, what you're bringing to the table. You've altered their lives dramatically. My own guys don't even realize the impact that you had on them yet. But I always love to ask this question to coaches, trainers, people that go around and impart upon others. There's always that one person, and I can name my one person to this day, and I always love this one person because his story is awesome to me. But you get that one person that shows up at your event, and he's like, Man, Deshaun, I was like just about to quit the industry. I was done, I wasn't succeeding, life wasn't working for me, I wasn't getting what I needed out of this, and I saw your video, I came to your event, I saw something that you did and you impacted me. And I always like to ask, is there one in particular? And I know you've got hundreds, probably thousands at this point, that you think back and you say to yourself, Man, when that person said this to me at that time, kind of like Mike Coday reaching out to you for doing a training that really validated what you were doing for yourself and made you realize this was your calling, this is what you were made to do, and this one person, if they had not met you, who knows what would have happened to them. But you have one of those from your somewhere along the way that you can just think of and say, you know what, that dude right there.
SPEAKER_00I I'll I'll I'll do like a like I'll do two, but they they brief. Second one is extremely impactful. The first one was the first time I experienced it. Um, I did a training up in Maryland, and it's a private training, and I'm you know, I'm passing out my kits, and it's an older gentleman, he's about 65 years old, and I'm giving him my information. He like like giving me the side, I'm like, uh, yeah, like put it on the table. And uh, we did it. I did my kickoff event. And when I come train, I do one-on-ones with all of the sales reps, sit down with them individually, unpack them, help them grow, help them get better. And I'm sitting down with this 65-year-old dude, and um, when I tell you, it's one of the most richest, fun, uh, impactful conversations that he's had, that I've had. And this in 2020, this is my first year being on the road. And uh he out of everybody, he was the first guy that called the owner. Yeah, and he was like, Hey man, I just want to say thank you so much for bringing this guy out. I didn't know I needed this as much as I did. And he was like, you know, I'm 65 years old. This dude reminded me why I started doing this again, and he he turned the fire back on to me that was kind of like dormant. And I just wanted to say thank you for bringing this guy out. And um, I tell that story all the time when I go train companies because the young guy is kind of arrogant, but the old guy is just as arrogant sometimes.
SPEAKER_01Like, I know I'm one of them five years.
SPEAKER_00Well, you can teach me, yeah, and that dude right there was the first, I think the first early signs of like we doing the right thing, we're going in the right direction, but still, how can we take it to that next level? And then recently, um, a year ago, so I'm on the Atlas tour. Last year, Atlas did the golf tour. So um, I did all of their golf tours last year. So we in um Dallas, Texas, dude named Kevin, Kevin Kuhn, awesome guy. He came down from West Virginia. We do the four types of homeowners, four types of salespeople. And um he it hit him in the heart. He was like, Wow, you really showed me that like I don't know how to train my people. I'm I'm putting them at a disadvantage, I'm um, I'm setting them up for failure. He's like, You cut me open. He's like, I felt like I was in church, and I felt like you know how you go to church and the pastor preaching, and you're like, Is he talking to me?
SPEAKER_01He's talking directly to me. Most of the time, yeah.
SPEAKER_00He said, That's how I felt like you was talking to me. He called me up after the event. He said, I need you to come help me train my guys, man. I love what you do, I love your mindset. Come come I need how much it costs, I don't care. I'm paying it. He paid the training, I come out and train his company, right? So listen, I met them last November.
unknownRight?
SPEAKER_00They ended up joining the Best Hustler Academy the whole night. So I meet them in November, they slide into December on fire. January, they did 350,000 in the snow in West Virginia. Nice. That's hard. February, they come back and do 450,000 still in the snow in West Virginia. They come back in March, Chuck. They did over a million. That's the first time they ever did a million plus in day existence of being in business. They brought me back out to train again for the summertime to get everybody started, get them geeked up. So we did two trainers in seven months. Like that's how impacted they were from the first time we did it. Um, this year, right now, they're almost at about six million, a little bit over six million, I think, or somewhere around there. And that's more than they did the entire year last year. Just from him meeting me, he started reading books. He went to the Grat Cardone 10X Growth Con. He he changed his whole organization around. He talked to everybody different. He he's learned people communication styles, he steps into their worlds first. Everything about him shifted from him meeting me that first time. And he was a guy that calls me all the time. And here, Pastor. And he says, Deshaun, you know, I would not be where I'm at without you, man. And I just want to say thank you so much for doing what you do. And that's probably the most impactful story I've had over the past, you know, five years. It's a bunch of them, but that one stands out so much because he's been in business for like 20 plus years, and he's an old dude. Like, he's not old, like rankly old, but he's an old dude. And his humility to learn from somebody almost, you know, half his age is the thing that really stood out to me.
SPEAKER_01Yep. I mean, nothing more legitimate than that. And you have earned your place in this industry, you've earned your place at the top as one of the guys that commands that respect because you've helped a lot of people, you'll probably never understand the full depth of how many people you've impacted in your life, and it's gonna continue on probably forever. You know, that's the cool thing about YouTube and all that. I tell people, I'm gonna beat Joe Rogan one day, I'll probably be like 150 years old or I'll be dead for like 20 years, but my videos are gonna live on, and one day people are gonna forget about Joe, and I'm gonna take his spot. So that's what's so cool about this day, Sean. And I can't thank you enough for taking the time to come back on keeping it Rio. You're one of the people in the industry. I absolutely love you, dude. And every time I see you, I feel the energy, and I just I really appreciate what you're doing and what you're what you've already done. I mean, I know that when you started it, you probably didn't visualize you know all this happening as quickly as it has for you and all that. Before we say goodbye to our audience tonight, I got two last things. I got to give my props to my sponsor, but I want to ask you, okay, life goes exactly perfect according to plan, which we know it never does. But let's say that in this one case, you got your game plan written down for five years from now. We just talked about the last five years and how much growth and development and everything you've had. What does the perfect scenario look for you professionally, personally, everything life-wise, five years from now, if it goes according to that plan?
SPEAKER_00Um, if if life goes perfect according to plan, um, we'll be a multimillionaire in the next five years. I'll be married, happily married, and then not just married, happily married. My kids would be starting middle school, starting to find their purposes and their passions, and I'll be there to support them. Um, we'll probably be at a level where we've we've spilled over into other industries, to whether it's uh HVAC, mortgages, uh just because I've been a lot of things have been creeping into my life lately that I see where we may be spilling over into other industries, which I'm excited about. But um, we'll grow from roofing. We'll still have nothing but love and respect for roofing. We'll always be present for roofing, but we'll start spilling over in the other industries. Eventually, I think we'll get some licensing going on, and I think we'll we'll be working on bigger deals in the sense of possibly future equity plays where we get involved with companies, help them grow, help them sell, and then I get a cut instead of doing weekend trainings. But um, I love the weekend trainings, but in a perfect world, I think that's what we'll eventually transpire to where we're working with one or two companies a year and really helping them grow and being a part of that sale and you know, getting cuts like that. But that's why I see things going in the future.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely, and you've got that vision, it's very clear. I'm gonna have you back on the podcast in less than 1,409 days from now, and we're gonna talk about the growth and development that you're gonna have moving forward because I have no doubt you're gonna win, dude. That's what winners do, but winning and persistence always pays off. So I appreciate that. And again, thank you for being here on keeping it real. It's episode 266, it's been absolute fire. Before we say goodnight to our fans, I gotta do my favorite part of my podcast for 200 and whatever episodes now. I get to thank my sponsors, Roofer. And Roofer has been amazing to me, Dayshawn, for the last four years. They have been my primary sponsor on the show. They do so much for my roofing company, they do so much for me personally. Love everybody at Roofer. If you guys are not affiliated with Roofer, I don't know what's wrong with you at this point. I love saying it for years. I don't know what's wrong if you're not listening, but your point of contact all the way to the final payment and beyond. Roofer is the best. Everybody, thank you for watching, keeping it real. Episode 266 has been absolutely a blast. And uh, Deshaun, stick around as soon as I hit this end recording. The fans are gonna be subjected to the most amazing advertisement for my sponsor, and then you and I can finish our conversation on the back end. So thank you for that. And uh, I am with the corniest tagline in the history of podcasts every episode. Till next time, you guys keep on keeping it real. Keeping it real, baby. There you go. We'll see y'all next week. Thank you guys. I found Roofer online about seven years ago, used it one time, and it's been the only thing I've used ever since. It's basically a program that makes your life a lot easier to measuring roofs, putting together proposals, things of that nature. Roofer fulfills every need that we have. Our homeowners are always impressed by the presentation. They're able to kind of look at things differently and learn at their own pace. They sign the documentation online because it's the number one CRM in the industry. Everything that you can get with Roofer is gonna help your business grow. I think that y'all should do it for sure.
